Pickard will chair the firm’s International Trade and National Security Practice Group, which brings together experience in litigation, white-collar defense, government investigations and trade regulation.
“Given the fierce competition that American manufacturing companies face in the U.S. market, Dan’s expertise will be a great asset to our clients as we advance their interests domestically and internationally,” said Joseph Dougherty, Chairman and CEO of Buchanan. “Furthermore, Dan’s extensive experience and significant successes before the ITC and other regulators, particularly in relation to trade remedy investigations, add to our strategic goal of helping clients meet their competitive needs, including regaining market share that had been lost to low-priced imports.”
“Buchanan is the perfect fit for me and my practice, as it offers the ideal combination of a national footprint, a large list of manufacturing clients in key industries, and a large team of top-notch litigators” , said Pickard. “With Buchanan’s broad platform and depth of bench, I look forward to helping businesses meet the complex international business challenges they face today.”
Pickard has extensive experience in trade remedy investigations, including anti-dumping, countervailing duty and safeguard cases. He also deals with foreign policy and national security matters, such as U.S. economic sanctions, export controls, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), anti-boycott measures, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
