DGFT opens Covid assistance service to support international trade during pandemic outbreak


The Ministry of Commerce and the General Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT) have set up a “COVID-19 helpline” to support and seek appropriate solutions to problems related to international trade. The DGFT will also monitor the status of exports and imports and the difficulties faced by commercial actors given the upsurge in COVID-19 cases.

The “COVID-19 Helpdesk” would look into Ministry of Commerce / DGFT issues, import and export licensing issues, customs clearance delays and associated complexities, documentation issues. import / export, banking matters, etc.

The helpdesk would also collect and collate trade related issues regarding other central government ministries / departments / agencies and state governments and coordinate to seek their support and suggest possible solutions.

The status of resolutions and comments can be tracked using the status tracker under DGFT Helpdesk. Emails and SMS would also be sent as the status of these tickets is updated. The business community is kindly requested to use the facilities provided in an appropriate manner.

The telephone numbers will remain functional from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. wef, 05.01.2022. Issues reported by various stakeholders through this control room should be addressed with the relevant state governments / TUs.
