International trade in services IDEP

Statistics Netherlands publishes quarterly figures on international trade in services. These figures are of great importance in determining the gross domestic product (GDP).
Internationally traded services account for 10% of GDP.
The survey results are used to support government strategies to improve trade policy and provide insight into the competitive position of the Netherlands relative to other countries.

In addition to international trade in services, we also ask in this survey that, where applicable, two specific forms of trade in goods be specified, namely merchant trade (transit trade) and trade via Dutch customs warehouses. Please refer to our manual and frequently asked questions for more information.

Change country code

Since 2022, we require companies to trade services with Kosovo using the country code XK instead of RS. Before 2022, companies had to declare Kosovo with the code RS under Serbia.
If your company declared Kosovo with RS in previous years, we kindly ask you to make the necessary adjustments in your records to the XK code for Kosovo from 2022.
