(MENAFN) According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, foreign companies that remain in Russia or seek to return despite Ukraine-related sanctions will receive preferential terms.
The official added that “we take good care of these foreign businessmen who remain [in Russia]. We have the same great respect and concern for those businessmen who, under pressure, are now forced to wait, but who have already said that they will resume their activities here as soon as possible.
Peskov made the remarks ahead of the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which will take place next week. He claimed that the event organizers expect fewer Western company representatives for the current year than in previous years. nevertheless, according to Peskov, their numbers are going to be reduced because of the political pressure linked to the continuation of the Russian military campaign in Ukraine, and not because of their reluctance to engage with Russia.
