“We are extremely proud to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade, which recognizes the expertise and hard work of the entire Tower team,” commented Tower Cold Chain CEO Niall Balfour. “Recognizing our international growth shows how focused we are on meeting our customers’ global supply chain needs and we will continue to invest and collaborate to achieve this.”

Tower recently played a key role in ensuring the critical delivery of Covid-19 vaccines throughout the pandemic. Additionally, the launch of both the KTM42D for critical ultra-cold temperature pharmaceuticals and the KTEvolution, a lightweight, hand-operated solution ideal for small shipments such as direct-to-patient and last-mile deliveries, helped to cope with the last cold – the needs of the chain.

The company has continued to invest to drive its growth strategy, with the UK workforce doubling over the past three years. In addition to the expansion of its global hub, Tower has also opened its new 26,000 square foot UK headquarters and center of excellence at Theale, Reading, including the addition of an innovation center to enhance its design and laboratory testing capabilities in the development of the latest temperature-controlled solutions.

Niall Balfour added; “Our vision is to become the premier cold chain shipping facility of choice in the world. Winning the prestigious Queen’s Award recognizes this journey, acknowledges the trust of our customers and, most importantly, marks the tremendous efforts of our entire team at Tower. I would like to thank and congratulate each of them for their contribution – this award is a true testament to their support and our continued international growth.
